Charles (Chuck) Chiasson is a dedicated politician who represents the people of the new riding of Grand Falls-Vallée-des-Rivières-Saint-Quentin following the 2025 general election. He was subsequently appointed Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. His commitment to his constituents and his community is exemplified by his 2014 election and subsequent re-elections for Victoria-La Vallée.

Born in Grand Falls in 1958, Mr. Chiasson’s journey in life began with his graduation from Thomas Albert Senior High School in 1979. He embarked on a successful career in sales and customer service, initially with Pepsi-Cola Canada and later with Kraft Canada Inc., where he dedicated 24 years of his professional life before his retirement in 2014.

During his tenure at Kraft Canada, Chuck pursued further education in marketing management at Husson College in Maine, a testament to his commitment to personal growth and excellence. His unwavering dedication and relentless drive resulted in him being honored with the National Sales Excellence Award a remarkable eight times during his career.

Mr. Chiasson’s passion for youth and community service is evident through his involvement as a minor soccer coach from 1998 to 2004 and as a martial arts instructor from 2007 to 2014. He has also been a champion of various local fundraisers, raising funds for causes close to his heart, including the Canadian Cancer Society, the local women's shelter and the SPCA.

In his precious free time, he enjoys woodworking, martial arts, water sports and actively participates in volunteer work at his church. He and his wife, Lynne, are proud residents of Grand Falls, New Brunswick. Their family is a source of immense joy, with two adult children, Tanya and Charles, their spouses Pierre and Misoo and two marvellous grandsons Zachary and Matheo.

In the political arena, Mr. Chiasson has served diligently, with a history of legislative activities that showcase his dedication to his role:

- First Elected in the September 22, 2014 general election, he was subsequently re-elected in 2018 and 2020.

- Positions held include Deputy Government Whip, Deputy Speaker, Deputy Whip and Caucus Chair.

- Vital role with the Official Opposition as Critic for Education and Early Childhood Development and Critic for Transportation and Infrastructure.

- Served on many committees, of which he was Chair and Vice-Chair of the Standing Committees on Public Accounts and Economic Policy and served on the Legislative Administration Committee, the Standing Committees on Law Amendments, Social Policy, Procedure Privileges and Legislative Officers, Climate Change and Environmental Stewardship, Crown Corporations and the Select Committees on Cannabis and Public Universities, contributing significantly to the legislative process.
